Artist Lynn Leonard was born in Toronto Ontario, raised in Ottawa, and holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts from Ryerson. Through her work, Lynn explores light on form and the interaction of shapes, textures and tones found in our urban settings. She examines the building blocks that comprise the structures we inhabit and experience, exposing subtle rhythms and patterns in the urban landscape. By reinterpreting her subjects, she reveals to the viewer new, or a new way of seeing, objects and places. Colour and texture shift in these almost painterly abstract compositions, creating a more intimate expression of structures we normally see as ordinary and solid. Lynn’s works are held in private and corporate collections across Canada and the United States.
