Simon James Shaw

Simon grew up in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia on the Great Barrier Reef. The outdoors and an innate creativity led him to study landscape architecture, leading him to applying drafting and illustration to projects. After living in a National Park in Sydney and dabbling in the making of short films, Simon moved to Byron Bay, Northern New South Wales to surf and draw, what he refers to as, mystical women. Simon has spent the last 10 years working in the Middle East and surfing in Sri Lanka. Currently, he resides in Stratford, Ontario with his family and recently created an installation for Nuit Blanche (2016 edition) in Toronto, Ontairo entitled "The Rainbow Serpent", which explored themes of sustainability and water spirits.
